This page has various files for downloading and links to wonderful stuff.
- A number of beginning band members think that all this “transposing instrument” stuff is confusing, silly and downright wrong. Maybe, but that's the way it is. Here is as good as any explanation I can find. I guess saying “just deal with it” would be unkind and pedantic.
- A copy of our poster. Please download and print and put it up wherever there are people to see it. We want everyone to know about us! Poster PDF.
- A single page handout letting folks know who we are, when we meet, etc. Please use your paper and ink to print some of these. There are 2 copies of the text on a single page so you can slice them in the middle: Announcements PDF
- You really should have a method book (or two or three) for your instrument. The RUBANK series have been around forever, but they really do have great exercises, fingering charts and various “howto stuff” in them. Anderson Music carries them, or can get them in short order. But, to get you started there are various fingering charts on the web. For woodwinds, you can try woodwind fingering charts. This Clarinet chart appears to be good for beginners. For trombone, tuba, trumpet and horn you can check brass fingerings.
