IMC 2010
This might be getting a tad on the boring side ... but camp was a lot of fun! New friends made; old friendships renewed. And a lot of wonderful music making and listening. Amazing how much even old guys like me can learn!
“Sleepy Cats” is the original composition I played at recital night. I wrote it after seeing some very cute kittens trying very hard NOT to fall asleep.
Karen, my good camp friend from South Dakota, is on the piano; and a new friend, Gari, from Winnipeg is on the electric bass.
Sleepy Cats, Live recording. () |
The recording is straight off the H4. All I did was cut the noise at the start/end and adjusted the overall volume to 0 dD. No mixing, compression, eq, etc. Instead of having the recorder on stage, like in 2009, I had a friend in the audience do the recording.
I'm starting to wonder if live recordings are wonderful ... can't go back and change things like you can in the studio. Play a “bad note” and you're stuck with it forever. Oh, well ... that's life!
